Welcome everyone!
I needed to work up a headwrap super fast and couldn’t find an easy basic pattern so I’ve decided to type up my own! I just recently worked up this flower and thought it would be the PERFECT embellishment for this awesome headwrap! I hope you love it as much as I do 🙂
If you know the crochet basics then you can do this! This headwrap is fantastic by itself OR embellished with whatever type of flower or bow pattern you like.
Bonus…it’s works up in NO time!
Big THANK YOU to my wonderful friend Amy from Photography by Amy for her amazing eye behind the lens and my gorgeous friend Emily from Elevate Salon for modeling last-minute for me! She said this was HER color…I couldn’t agree more 🙂
This is, from now on, my GO-TO, no-brainer Easiest Headwrap EVER Pattern! I hope it quickly becomes yours.
Materials:
any WW yarn
Size H 5.0mm hook
Yarn sewing needle
One button
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
sk – skip
sp(s) – space(s)
slst – slip stitch
st – stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
Gauge: 7hdc x (almost) 6 rows = 2″ square
Finished headwrap measures approx. 22″ long
Note 1: When working the hdc stitches insert hook BETWEEN the stitches NOT in the top 2 loops. I love the way the stitches lay when worked this way and since the piece is worked back & forth it provides a more uniformed look. See picture below.
Note 2: The ch1 NEVER counts as a stitch.
Note 3: I tend to crochet on the loose side so if you find as you’re working this up that it may be too short for you, just add some extra rows right before starting the decrease.
Row 1 – ch5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across to end, ch1, turn. (4)
Row 2 – hdc in 1st st, ch2, sk 2 sts, hdc in last st, ch1, turn. (2 sts & a ch2 sp…button hole)
Row 3 – 2hdc in 1st st, 2hdc in ch2 sp, 2hdc in last st, ch1, turn. (6)
Row 4 – hdc in each st across, ch1, turn. (6)
Row 5 – 2hdc, hdc in next 4, 2hdc, ch1, turn. (8)
Row 6 – hdc across, ch1, turn. (8)
Row 7 – 2hdc, hdc in next 6, 2hdc, ch1, turn. (10)
Row 8 – hdc across, ch1, turn. (10)
Row 9 – 2hdc, hdc in next 8, 2hdc, ch1, turn. (12)
Row 10 – hdc across, ch1, turn. (12)
Rows 11-55 – REPEAT Row 10. (12)
Row 56 – sk 1st st, hdc in next 9, sk 1 st, hdc in last, ch1, turn. (10)
Row 57 – hdc across, ch1, turn. (10)
Row 58 – sk 1st st, hdc in next 7, sk 1 st, hdc in last, ch1, turn. (8)
Row 59 – hdc across, ch1, turn. (8)
Row 60 – sk 1st st, hdc in next 5, sk 1 st, hdc in last, ch1, turn. (6)
Row 61 – hdc across, ch1, turn. (6)
Row 62 – sk 1st st, hdc in next 3, sk 1 st, hdc in last, ch1, turn. (4)
Row 63 – hdc across, ch1, DO NOT TURN. (4)
*NOW work SC down the side of the piece all the way around by putting 1sc in each hdc row & 2sc in each corner. Slst to the first sc made to join. Finish off and weave in your ends.
Line up your button hole to the other side and sew on your button of choice!
EASY PEASY!!
I think this would make an awesome scrap yarn project with different colored rows!!
Now the FLOWER PATTERN:
Ch5, join with a slst to the first ch to make a loop.
Round 1 – ch1, (sc, ch1, 3dc, ch1, sc) in the loop FOUR times, slst to the first sc made. {Now remove hook from loop, take your hook and insert it from behind and pull the loop from the front to the back and continue on the Round 2} (4 petals total)
Round 2 – (working behind the petals), *slst around the middle dc from previous round, ch4* repeat from *to* around, slst to the first ch4 made. (4 ch4 sps total)
Round 3 – ch1, (sc, ch1, 5dc, ch1, sc) in all the ch4 sps around, slst to the first sc made. {Now remove hook from loop, take your hook and insert it from behind and pull the loop from the front to the back and continue on the Round 4} (4 petals total)
Round 4 – (working behind the petals), ch4, slst around the middle dc from previous round, *ch4, slst around next sc, ch4, slst around the middle dc from previous round, ch4* repeat *to* around, slst to first ch4 sp. (8 ch4 sps total)
Round 5 – ch1, (sc, sc1, 5dc, ch1, sc) in all the ch4 sps around, slst to the first sc made. (8 petals total) Fasten Off and weave in ends!
Enjoy!
You now have a beautiful headwrap! Thank you for visiting my blog. I’d love to see pictures and hear about your headwraps you’ve made!
* If making and selling this as a finished product please link back to this blog post for the pattern. Do not copy or change this pattern and sell it as your own. If you have ANY questions feel free to email me at frayed_knot@att.net Thank You!!! 🙂
Love this!! Turned out beautiful although it’s too small for my head. 🙂 Guess I’ll have to make a bigger one if I want to wear it myself. Darn big head! 🙂
Thank you for sharing!
Well that’s a bummer!! I do tend to crochet on the loose side…I’ll add that to the post so others know. I’m glad you liked it though!! Just adding some extra rows before decreasing should be a quick fix, you wouldn’t have to flog too much…if you can’t find someone with a smaller head that is…lol
I will make myself one and use a bigger hook, see if that helps any. I have enough girls in my family I’m sure someone can use the one that is too small. 🙂
Made a 2nd one, much better fit. Used an I hook instead of the H and that did the trick. 🙂 Thanks again for the pattern. I simply love it!!
Can you measure and let me know if it’s between 21 and 22 inches? I have used other patterns and that seems to be the standard, I would like to try this pattern. Thank you!
I made this for my full grown grand-daughter who does not have a small head and just added extra rows in the middle. Worked out perfect. She loved it.
I must really crochet loose I ended up using an f hook to get the right size.
Thank you for the pattern. It turned out really cute!
You are so welcome!! I’m glad it turned out! 🙂
Haha…you must! Too funny.
Thank you very much for the tutorial. You can see my job in the next links:

How adorable are you?! I’m so glad you like it! Thank you so much for sharing your pics with me!! 🙂
How long did it take you to make it?
I would say about 30-45 mins or so probably including the flower
Just made 2 of these today! They are sooo cute!!
Thanks for sharing your pattern.
Yay!! So fun! You’re very welcome 🙂 Glad you like it!
Do you have a pattern for the flower?
There is a link in the post just click on “flower pattern”. It should take you right to the flower pattern 🙂
where do i go to find ,some of the abbreviations Thank you
I found this online….http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/crochet.html….hope it helps!
I find the http://www.lionbrandyarn.com GREAT for abbreviation helps, Helga.
Thank you so so much ,for the Crochet Abbreviation List ,you are just the best Thank you again Helga
You’re very welcome!
Oh my goodness!! A pattern for something I am capable of making and it uses a normal size hook!!!! So far most everything I have found on Pinterest uses tree limbs as crochet hooks! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
LOL! Well I’m so glad I could help you out!!! I’ve felt your pain before! 🙂
Thank you sooooo much for this pattern. I’ve been searching for an easy pattern. This will make great use of my scrap yarn for some gifts!
AWESOME!! You are so welcome!! I’m glad you like it!
Yay! I’d love to see pics when you finish!
Ok I’m not picking up on the flower…any chance you could do a YouTube video just for the flower to follow along?
Thank you so much for sharing this pattern! It is AWESOME!!! I am sure i will be making a few of them! 🙂
Sweet!!! I’m so glad you like it!!
Thank you for your pattern. It’s so easy to adapt. Used some chunky yarn and a 5mm hook, missed out a few rows in the middle and it turned out perfect 🙂 lovely and snug for the school run 🙂
That’s awesome Sarah!!! Thank you so much for sharing that! I’ll have to work one up with some chunky yarn…great idea 🙂
I love this pattern! Made it in about 2hrs. I used a chunky yarn, hook I, and only rows 11 thru 45 instead of 55. Worked out great!
That’s great!! Thanks for sharing with us!
Wow, finished this in no time, and it is beautiful. great present for my sister :)thanks for the pattern
Awesome! So glad it turned out for you! Hope your sister loves it!
Im not new to crocheting but I usually make my own patterns so im not sure what all the abbreviations are…
Rows 56-63 I am having a hard time doing… it’s not decreasing for me. I keep getting 12 stitches.
Are you not skipping the 2 sts per row? You need to make sure you are skipping the stitches where stated. Let me know if you have any more questions!
Thank you so much! I thought it meant single crochet… c:
Oh!! That would be a problem then…lol! Hope it all works out for you!
I’m looking for a free mickey mouse Bernie hat can you help me thanks pamy
when stitching row 5, you mention 2hdc,hdc in next 4,2hdc,ch 1 turn, do mean that the 2hdc are in the first stitch? then hdc in the next 4 stitches. thanks
When working this row you will be putting 2 hdc in the first & the last stitches. 🙂
Hi, I am trying to email this to myself so I can print this pattern.I only see links to Pinterst, FB and twiter. Could you please send link to email. That goes for this and any other pattern you post. Sol we can take it with us as we work. It would be greatly appreciated. Have a great hooking day!!!!
You could just copy the URL and paste it into a new email message and send it to yourself through your email.
Iam having trouble would like to see if someone would crochet the sock monkey cup holder for me or where can I buy it ? how do I get to the store to see all I can buy?
Hi Lyndia! I don’t sell finished items…just the patterns but I know a ton of shop owners that would be happy to make one for you 🙂 Let me know and I can hook you up with some of their shops 🙂
Thank you I would love for you to put me intouch with some one that could help me with this…I have a disability to my right arm and can’t crochet, …that is so cute .. the monkey cup cosey, I would like the pattern also just to have and show off.
THANKS AGAIN
Just gave your email to a very talented woman! You should be receiving an email very soon 🙂
Thanks I all ready have gotten one and she did sound nice Thanks again for the trouble
If it is too short, make a chain stitch loop on the end with the buttonhole. Make it just the right length to hook ober the button. You can use the matching yarn to sew the original buttonhole closed if you like.
Great idea!
I really wanted this to work out, it so cute. I’ve never had issues with the HDC…I just don’t know why it crocheted on the diagonal. After a few hours of crocheting and frogging, I gave up and worked on using your pattern as a guide and changed it to a DC.
I put the changed on my blog and did link back to you. I really like the pattern, I just wish it worked out for me.
I’m sorry to hear that! That is odd. I’m glad you were able to work it out with the dc stitch!
Thank you so much. Just finished making one in dark green. Turned out to be absolutely beautiful and great fit. Loved the flower – just perfect for this design. Million thanks for sharing the pattern.
Thank you so much for the pattern, great job! I spy Christmas presents!! 🙂 xx
Could you possibly email me a video of you actually doing this? But possibly do it a little slowly. I really do get confused while reading any sort of directions…. It doesn’t have to be this minute. Just whenever you have some spare time! That would be great!! 🙂 I really really what to do this!
I am making some of these for a church fundraiser. Do I still need to link back to your website? Thanks for the pattern by the way! it took me a couple of tries, but I think that I’ve got!
Nope…that’s not necessary! Hope it’s a success and I’m glad you figured it out 🙂
Thank you! This really is a very simple pattern once I figured it out! I’m self taught so I don’t follow patterns too well! Once again thanks!
Please make a tutorial!:)
I made this headwrap today I love the pattern 🙂 thinking of making some in other colors to. you can see it here: http://nara-creations.blogspot.nl/2013/10/crocheted-flower-headband.html
On round 5 of flower you say (sc, sc1…. )isn’t that the same as 2 sc? I just finished and it turned out beautiful. I made it in a grey. Almost gave up on the flower, but kept going. Glad I did. I’m a beginner and was able to do it! Thanks
Thank you for the catch!! Good eye! It was a typo…should read ch1 instead on sc1…I changed it. I’m so glad you stuck with it!!! 🙂
Love this pattern thank you so much for it!!
TY so much…This is beautiful!
Beautiful!! That is some great photography too…
Very nice!
So pretty!
you should do a youtube tutorial!
What does 2hdc mean? is that the same as hdc2together? sorry i am new at this. Thanks I can’t wait to finish it!
That means you are going to work 2 hdc stitches in the same space. Hope that makes sense!
love. love.. love the pattern..took me a little over 2 hrs to make, its going on 11:00pm LOL so I guess I better hit the sack and make the flower in the am..again love IT!
I’m so glad!! Sweet dreams! 🙂
Quick question…I know you mention you crochet loosely…I’m a knitter and pretty new to crochet so I have no idea if I crochet tightly or loosely…I have a feeling a bit tight because it doesn’t look wide enough to me. How wide is yours a the widest section? I saw that you mentioned yours came out 22″ long…I have a feeling I’m going to be frogging so I thought I’d check on the width before I get to that stage! 🙂 Thanks so much! I’m really enjoying this as my first “non-hat” crochet pattern. 🙂
I measure 4″ wide BUT thst is with the sc edging. So your’s may look a little thinner but once you add the edge it will add some width to it. I would be more worried about your length if you crochet a little tighter and that’s an easy fix. Just add a couple more rows right before you start the decrease rows. Hope that helps!! 🙂
Got it…thanks so much! It is now obvious that I had not read all the way down to see that there was an edge…LOL! That makes sense…now to figure out how to do that once I’m done. 🙂 I love learning new things so this is fun and cool…oh, and I’ve now taken out a different yarn to use…the one I was using was just stiff…blech. Thanks so much for the speedy response!
I have never crocheted but would love to start to be able to make these head wraps, especially for my little girl and myself of course. What do you recommend?
I suggest a beginner crochet book or watching some YouTube videos. As soon as you learn the basic stitches you can do this! Good luck!
OMG!!! Do you know how much people charge to buy one of these? Thank you so much for posting this pattern. I’ve looked for a simple one since last winter. Hooked yours in an afternoon and because I work tight, I also used an I hook. It came out perfect. Thanks again.
Thank you this is the best head band pattern I’ve found. Its going to make great Christmas presents this year. Its easy and looks great. I’ve made about 8 so far. After making the first one I decided not to do the button and just connect the ends.
I am so grateful to have such a gorgeous pattern available for free!! However, I am feeling so dumb right now! This headband pattern is awesome, and I’m confident that the flower will be awesome too, once I get past the first row!
I’m so confused on what to do after the 4 petals are made…it says, “{Now remove hook from loop, take your hook and insert it from behind and pull the loop from the front to the back and continue on the Round 2}”
Where am I inserting it from behind? Between stitches? …maybe once I get this cleared up, I’ll understand what it means to “pull the loop from the front to the back and continue on the Round 2”
Can anyone help me with this? I am so excited to have finally found a headband so beautiful, I’m just so stuck!
Thanks!
You can insert your hook from behind right in between the stitches…. by doing this you don’t see the seam from each round! I know it’s kinda hard to explain but try doing exactly what the instructions say word for word and see what happens….lol. Just grab that loop, pull it to the back and keep going. Maybe I can find a YouTube video! You can do it!!
Okay, I’m not sure if I did it correctly, but I did get it to work and it looks nice! Sorry for the earlier panicky message!
Thanks again for sharing this pattern. You would think a head-wrap would be the easiest thing to make, but I’ve tried several patterns and hated them all. This one is perfect. Thank you.
Yay! I’m so glad you like it!!
…And I just noticed you had already answered me. (You’re so kind and FAST!) Thank you so much!!!
Hi there,
Love this pattern just have a quick questions. In row 2 the 2 sts & a ch 2 sp… button hole? I don’t get this i am super new to crochet and can”t seem to figure what to do here?
Thanks
The ch2 creates the hole for the button that you’re going to sew on the other end of the head wrap. So you will work an hdc, ch2, skip 2, hdc in last. That ch2 and skipping the 2 sts make a hole. Hope that makes sense!
thank you, wonderful pattern. I made one for my mother for Christmas.
What number medium would you use for this project? I have a four
That is perfect! 🙂
I want this Head wrap but I cannot make it even as easy as it is if you know of someone who could make it for me that would be great I am disabled so making it makes it hard for me
I just love, love, love this pattern!! Just finished one for a Christmas gift tonight. I wasn’t entirely happy with the way my flower turned out, but I sewed a small vintage button in the center. Turned out beautiful!!! I think I’ll be making a few more this winter season. Thanks!!! 🙂
I need to make a bunch of these for my daughters (they work in the cold weather) is there anyway at all you could do a video, I am more of a visual learner, and the ones I have looked up on youtube are very hard to follow. This is perfect and exactly what I need to make them.
How can I make this in a smaller size for a toddler?. I have a niece that loved the one I made for myself and she wants one as well.
I love this! It is so quick and easy. Thank you so much for creating and sharing it! It is the perfect Christmas gift!
You’re so welcome!! I’m glad you loved it!
This is one of the easiest and cutest patterns I’ve found! Thanks for sharing and allowing sales from the pattern. I’ve linked back to the post!
Thanks for the awesome pattern. I made one in grey pretty quickly. I crochet kind of tight even with the bigger hook and it was a bit big for my head so I’m trying another one with a smaller hook to see how many rows I may need to leave off.
How did you sew or crochet your flower onto the headwrap?
I tend to crochet tight so I did one with the recommended hook. Was tiny. LOL so I went up 2 sizes and it came out fine. 🙂
Love this!! I’ve been trying to find just the right pattern for a headwrap and I stumbled across this one during one of my searches. I’m so thankful I did!! It worked up so quickly and it’s so pretty. I am planning to sell the finished product as a fundraiser to raise money for my daughter to go on a trip to Alaska as a Student Ambassador with the People to People Organization this coming summer. I will make sure I give you credit. Thank you so much for making this pattern!
I love this pattern! it was easy to read and understand and I love the wrap my ears are very grateful. I’m so excited to make some more for christmas gifts. 🙂
Love this pattern, thanks for sharing! I see more quick Christmas presents being made!
Il est magnifique.merci pour le partage
I couldn’t find your name on this page as I wanted to thank you personally for this pattern. I’ve been looking for good wrap patterns and have had requests for them. Thank you so much for this free pattern. I see you have others also and will check those out too. If I sell them, I will definitely link back to your site. Thanks again, Arlene from theroseyposey.com
Thank you so much! I’m thrilled you like it so much! My name is Jonna 🙂
I love this! I think I will make one for myself.
Did I miss it, or is there not a way to print this ? I don’t want to sit in front of my computer while I’m crocheting!!
It’s available as an instant download on Ravelry and Craftsy 🙂
Thank you!!!
Love this headband and the instructions! Very nice!! Thank you for sharing! Sandy
Would you mind making a YouTube video of you doing this project? I just started learning how to crochet & I’m having a hard time to do your pattern perfectly… Would you be willing to either post up a video or sending me a video of how to do this? 🙂
how could i make this for a smaller size? to fit a child?
Just found this pattern. I have to make this now. Very pretty and beautiful color! What color is that?
I can’t wait to make these! I’ve just started wearing my hair in a pixie and I think this’ll work wonderfully with my hair. Also great gifts!
Yes! You’ll have to share a pic 🙂
I will! My kitten ran off with my hook so I have to go buy a replacement first!
Could you explain what the ch4 refers to in this line of the flower pattern?
“Round 3 – ch1, (sc, ch1, 5dc, ch1, sc) in all the ch4 sps around, slst to the first sc made.” I am stumped where the ch4s are and how many of them there are. Thanks!
The ch4s are made in Round 2…located behind your petals from Round 1. You should have 4 ch4 spaces. Does that make sense? I hope so!
Oh, I am so sorry. When copying the instructions, I completely left out round 2 of the flower pattern. No wonder why I couldn’t find the ch4s! Thanks!! 😀
Hi love this and have followed it to a t! Can you please help me with this step…(working behind the petals), *slst around the middle dc from previous round, ch4* repeat from *to* around, slst to the first ch4 made. (4 ch4 sps total) .
I get lost after I chain for from the back. Thank You
After you ch4, slst around the dc in the middle of the petal. Then ch4 again and slst again all the way around. So there will be 4 ch4 spaces. Not sure if that helps!
I can’t get pass this step. Please help. I chain 4 from the back but can’t get past that. I am not sure what you mean from repeat from “to” Thank you so much
(working behind the petals), *slst around the middle dc from previous round, ch4* repeat from *to* around, slst to the first ch4 made. (4 ch4 sps total)
You will repeat everything from one * to the other * around. Does that make sense? 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing this pattern! I made one for myself in all black and just LOVE it! I’m now starting another in Heather Grey for a friend that has black hair, think it will look great on her! The pattern is super easy to follow and quick to make….love the big flower! thanks again. 🙂
Hi! Loved this pattern, I made it to give to a teenager in the foster system and I loved it so much I want to make more for charity! Thanks!
Reblogged this on the sparkly toad and commented:
Love this!
Please help, cannot figure out this flower!! Two days later and still stuck… Ch5, slst into first ch, now what loop am I working in? All four repeats?? I’m trying so hard to not be discouraged 😦 thank you
When you slst to the first ch it makes a one big loop. Work the following stitches into that loop you just made with the ch5. Does that make sense? Don’t get discouraged!! 🙂
Just made this and I LOVE it! You pattern is super clear and it was so simple to make (: Will definitely be making more in the future!
I too am slightly stuck on the flower. I think that a video would be so helpful for all of us visual learners! 🙂 Thanks for the great pattern.
How do I print the pattern.easiest headband ever
Go to this link and there is a print friendly version! http://www.imfrayedknot.com/category/free-patterns/page/4/
I love this pattern!! So so easy! I am in charge of a church activity to teach how to make one of these and have been trying several other patterns but this one is by far the best! I am so in love with this flower! I have 10 nieces that are going to get matching headbands for Christmas this year! Thank you for sharing this!! My only trouble was on the decrease but I made my own adjustment and it worked out great!!
I just finished the headband pay, but am super confused on the flower 😦 This is my first time using a pattern to crochet something. The “slip stitch around the middle double crochet” is confusing me. I need a video!
thanks so much for this pattern 🙂 I will post a photo on my IG and give you a tag! @craftymommy81

I love the headband and my daughter really enjoyed it now all her friends wanted one thank you so much for pattern.
This a beautiful head wrap. I wanted a pattern that I could whip up quickly for a football game the day after. It always gets chilly. I noticed that you didn’t have a video for this on youtube. I know there are many people who like visual lessons instead of written patterns. If you don’t feel the need nor want to upload a video, I was hoping if I could have permission to upload one myself of your beautiful pattern. My twin and I just started a channel and I was hoping I could upload crochet videos. But I’m no good coming up with patterns myself. If you give me permission to make a video for this pattern, I will give all credit to you and I will link your blog and pattern in the description. it would be very helpful and appreciated if you would allow this.
Sure, that would be totally fine! I think people would love that. 🙂 Be sure to link to this post here ~ http://www.imfrayedknot.com/2012/12/30/easiest-headwrap-ever-2/
hola me gusta los trabajos pero x q no se puede cambiar la lista en traducion . un saludo de chile
Help! I can’t figure out how to make the 2nd row of pedals. I’m so stuck! By any chance, do u gave a video tutorial?
Love the warmer, but having trouble wiyh row 5. Not coming out with 8. Are you meaning to do 2hdc in the 1st. Stich and 1hdc in the next stich, or do you mean to do 2hdc and 1hdc in each of 4 stiches and 2hdc in last stitch. I don’ get 8 when I do either. I will keep trying. I love the look of the pattern. Thanks. CeeCee
Hi there! You will work 2hdc stitches in the first stitch and the last stitch, leaving 1 hdc in each of the 4 stitches in between. That equals 8 sts. 2+4+2=8. Hope that helps! 🙂
Thanks. That makes good sense.
I just loooooove this headband, and would really love to make it. I am new to crocheting and are having a really hard time understanding written patterns, especially in English. Could you please post a video showing how you do it? I would be so greatful!!!! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Is there a video on this?!
I love the ear warmer very easy to make but I cannot get the flower

I made this headband the other night w/some scrap yarn. It turned out beautifully and I plan to make a whole lot of them for girlfriends. It fit perfectly using the H hook. Thank you for such a cute pattern! I’m going to try & modify it for my 3 year old grandaughter so I can make her a baby pink one to match most of her clothes.
NICE. Beautiful color, gorgeous model (I hope you have her the headwrap), brilliant pattern. Thank you for sharing!
I just made this head wrap and it turned out great . I just had a question In regards to attaching the flower . How do you do it ? Will the petals all be sewn on flat to the headband or do you just kinda attach the middle of the flower to the band so each petal sticks up a little bit ?
I know this is 4 years old, but I just found it and love it, especially right now with spring in the air! Perfect for a morning walk at the park✨
i must be doing something really wrong, because mine is WAAAAAAY to big. and I only ended up doing 44 rows instead of 55 before I started decreasing. still too big and the buttonhole is huge. I found the instructions for the flower a little confusing, but I finally got a reasonable flower after about 3 tries. gonna try again though. thanks for the pattern.
Try going down a hook size and see if that helps! Let me know if you have any questions!
I actually won a headband similar to this but it’s too small for my head. I’m so excited to try this. Thank you.
Love this pattern! Works up so easily. Have never attempted a multi layer flower before but the instructions were really easy to follow, love the result. Thank you so much for sharing. Will definitely be making up this headband plus flower again and again as gifts.
Thank you so much. LOVE the added flower. I’ve been looking for an easy headband pattern.

So pretty
What yarn and color is this? It’s what my niece is looking for. Thanks!
It’s Impeccable yarn by Loops & Thread color Teal! I’m glad you like it!
Either I’m doing something wrong, or you gals have big heads (lol) because after I got done it was “yuge” and I had to frog it back to row 50 and finish and it was right on the money, without yet adding the button.
If it stretches over time it’s going to be too big. I wonder what frogging it back to row 45 will get me.
By the way, what yarn and color is that? It’s GORGEOUS!

I really enjoyed this pattern. It is easy and works up fast. I made a couple per directions without the flower. I prefer narrower bands, so I adjusted the width. Love it!!! Thank you so much for sharing this pattern for free.
I absolutley love this pattern for the headband and it was so easy to make but I am really, really stuck on the flower..please can you make a tutorial on it?
How do you attach the flower to the headband?
What do the numbers in parentheses, at the end of your row descriptions, please?
The total number of stitches in that row. 🙂

Thank you for sharing this pattern. I can’t wait to try it.
I just love this head wrap pattern. It is easy to follow. It only takes about an hour and a half. I tend to crochet on the tight side so I use a bigger hook. I’ve made lots of these, I don’t know how many. Over 50 for family, friends, people at work, and the homeless. Everybody loves it. Lots of compliments and requests to make more. Everyone loves free stuff. They really like that their combo of colors made because it’s usually one of a kind. For the not so girlie girl or one who may not like a flower I use buttons.
